Interpretation: Your Lord has decreed that you will not worship anything except Him. And to the parents kindness, whether one or both of them come to old age with you. Do not say “fie” to them, and do not scold them, and speak to them kindly, and protect them with the wing of meekness out of mercy, and say, “My Lord, have mercy upon them as they protected me when I was small.” (Quran 17: 23-24)
